Labour Department announces legal action on companies that fail to grant paid leave to their employees ahead of State polls

Ahead of the State Assembly elections scheduled to be held on April 6 (tomorrow), the Labour Department has announced legal actions against employers who do not grant a paid 'day off' for their employees tomorrow.


Coimbatore: Ahead of the State Assembly elections to be held on April 6 (tomorrow), the Labour Department has made an announcement that it would take legal action against employers who do not grant a paid 'day off' tomorrow to their employees.

The Assistant Commissioner Venkatesan of the Labour Department (execution) announced that "On account of the State Assembly elections tomorrow, IT companies, public departments, shops, businesses, food and other industries must give its employees a paid 'day off' tomorrow to cast their votes. Legal action will be taken against those companies who fail to do this.
