Coimbatore collector has announced that TASMAC shops will remain closed for two days on Milad-un-Nabi on September 28 and Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2.
Coimbatore: Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated across the country on September 28 and Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Hence, all liquor shops in Coimbatore district will remain closed on those days. Liquor outlets operating in entertainment centres and star hotels will also not function.
District Collector Kranthi Kumar has warned that strict action will be taken as per law if liquor is sold in those areas in violation of rules on the above days.
