Supporters and NGOs participate in the cleaning drive initiated by corporation at VOC grounds.

The on-going Jallikattu protests at VOC grounds is on for the sixth consecutive day. The supporters were provided with all essential needs like water packets, food, biscuits, refreshments all through the day. Several good-hearted organisations and NGOs came forward to provide the supporters with all essential requirements.

Everyday loads and loads of wastes got collected at the grounds. The supporters themselves volunteered to collect the left over food packets, used water bottles, plastic covers at the grounds and the adjoining areas around VOC park.

The supporters also requested the city corporation to provide more garbage bins to deposit the collected trash. CCMC's garbage lorries every night arrived to the spot and cleared the wastes collected by the volunteers, which was close to a ton.

Today, CCMC, Special Officer, Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan passed orders to the sanitary workers to clean the VOC grounds and remove the trash. Several NGOs also participated in this cleaning drive.

The entire operation was supervised by Special Officer, Vijayakarthikeyan. He also advised the sanitary staff to frequently clean the toilets at the VOC grounds to ensure cleanliness and ease of use for the supporters.
