Aroh, is a NGO based in Coimbatore for helping the children who are victims of cancer. Since it's inception in the year 2013, Aroh has been a lending their support for the children and their parents by providing free medical assistance and re-assuring counselling sessions.
'Hope' is the powerful medicine for the victims of cancer. When the victim happens to be a child, the entire process becomes more pain-striking for the family members. Whether to reveal the nature of the disease to the child or not? how to answer their queries about their sickness? how to instill hope in their little hearts? are some of the challenging questions that bewilders the parents of these cancer-affected children.
To address such tactful questions, every month, Aroh convenes meeting through their parent support group. In this regard, yesterday, the NGO hosted it's first meeting for the year 2017. The meeting commenced with birthday wishes for all those cancer-affected kids born in January, among them were, Simla, Sabarivasan and Akbar Ali.

A silent prayer was hosted for Santhosh, a kid who lost his life last month to cancer along with special prayers for all those affected kids.

The counselors present at Aroh advised the parents to be hopeful and optimistic about their children's treatment. 'Being kind and happy to the children will help them boost their morale. Undeniably, every parent of cancer-affected kids would be undergoing tremendous stress and heart-wrenching moments. But, above all staying together with hope will help them ease off from apprehensions' Vijay from Aroh said.
Parents were also advised to practice pranayama (breathing exercise) along with their children. At the end of the session, food, medicines and grocery were distributed to the parents free of cost.
