Sri Krishna educational Institutions announce ban of coke and pepsi products.


Following the historic Jallikattu protests hosted in the state of Tamil Nadu, several hoteliers, educational institutions and establishments have come forward to declare ban of aerated imported drinks like Coke and Pepsi at their concerns. 

A few days ago, RHR chain of hotels announced that their hotel chain will not sell anymore coke and pepsi drinks. Now, the latest to join the bandwagon of those who have banned the sale of aerated drinks of international origin is Sri Krishna Educational Institutions, Coimbatore.

Sources from the college share that they have decided to ban coke and pepsi products in their canteen from this day on wards. Students of this college have also extended their support and appreciations to the management on the decision. 

During the protests, it was brought to light that these foreign companies who have set up their manufacturing units on the Indian soil continue to exploit our natural resources like water which adversely impacts agriculture and thereby questioning the livelihood of the farmers. Gallons of water has been withdrawn from the rivers for producing the these aerated drinks.  

Association of trade bodies have also announced ban on sales of aerated drinks of international origin from 1st March, 2017.
