The daVinci robotic surgery mechanism is the latest technology used world wide in complex surgeries. This technology assists the surgeon's hand movements to carry on the surgery very precisely with minimal incisions. This one-of-a-kind technology has been used at the KMCH multi specialty hospital in Avinashi Road to perform complex surgeries.
Close to 35 complex surgeries have been successfully performed through this robot technology shares the Management team of this hospital. The hospital claims that this advanced robotic technology is a boon to the patients as it is painless with minimal scars and lesser time for recovery, when compared to the normal surgery procedures.

Citing on a recent case, Dr. Ganesan, General Surgeon shares that, 'Using the daVinci robotic technology I have so far operated 15 cases successfully. Recently, using the technology we operated on a 54-year-old lady who was detected with a cancer at thoracic esophagus. Usually to treat such cases, we do an open surgery which is very painful, long recovery time and leaves permanent scars. The patient is now recovering well. This technology helps in removing the cancer clots without causing any damage to the adjacent tissues. Rectal cancer surgeries performed through this technology has allowed the patients to return to normalcy without removal of the intestines leading to the rectum.
Speaking on this, Dr. Nalla G Palanisamy, Chairman, KMCH stated that, 'This robotic technology assists the surgeons to precisely operate on the problematic area. The cost of this robotic surgery is no different from that of the normal surgery, so all patients can experience the benefits of this modernized high-tech robotic technology'. He also extended his appreciations to Dr. Ganesan for carrying out the surgeries successfully using this technology.
Oesophagectomy, Fundoplication, Heller’s Myotomy, D2 Gastrectomy, Pancreatectomy including Whipple resection, Colectomies, Rectal cancer surgeries avoiding colostomy, Radical hysterectomy, Bariatric surgeries can be performed using this robot technology.
