National conference on foreign direct investment held in Sankara Arts and Science College


An one-day national conference on 'Foreign Direct Investment' (FDI) was organised by the department of commerce of Sankara Arts and Science College today. Students from close to 30 colleges took part in the conference. 



Ms. Nithya Ramachandharan, Deputy Joint Secretary, Sankara College of Science and Commerce presided over the function and Dr.M.Sumathi, Head, Department of Commerce, Bharathiar University was the Chief Guest for the session.



Dr. H. Balakrishnan principal of the college delivered the welcome address and briefed the students about FDI in India. Dr.M.Sumathi gave the inaugural address in which she emphasised on the growth of FDI in India and its impact.

Dr. M Kochadai, from Pondicherry University chaired the first session and papers were presented by the Faculties, Research Scholars and Students from various colleges in and around Coimbatore. Students from Vasavi College Erode, DonBosco College, Dharmapuri, PMP Arts & Science, Bharathidhasan Government Arts & Science College Pudhuchery, Sri Sankara College of arts and science, AS college Kanchipuram. 



The proceedings of the conference was released by Ms.Nithya Ramachandharan, Dr.M. Sumathi, Dr.H. Balakrishnan & Dr.K. Suresh Babu Head, Department of Commerce, Sankara College of Science and Commerce.

Sankari, Associate Proffessor, Alliance school of Business, Alliance University, Bangalore and Dr. Sivagnanan Assistant Proffessor, Department of Commerce, Government Arts College acted as the resource persons for the second session.

Dr. S.Sivagnanan, Asst. Prof, Department of Commerce, Government Arts College, Coimbatore distributed the certificates for the participants. Professor V. Tamilselvi, Department of Commerce gave the thanking address.
