Union Minister Smriti Irani was felicitated by various textile industry organisations from Coimbatore and Tirupur at a private hotel on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani arrived in Coimbatore to attend the launch of a book titled 'No Objection' written by the BJP National Women's Wing President, Vanathi Srinivasan.

A function was held at a private hotel on Avinashi Road, on Sunday, in Coimbatore to felicitate the Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani on behalf of various textile organisations. Various textile manufacturing organizations and exporters associations from various districts including Coimbatore and Tirupur participated in the meeting and congratulated the Union Minister.
Speaking at the function, Union Minister Smriti Irani said that various steps have been taken by the Government of India for the development of the textile sector. "When I was the Textiles Minister, the country faced a major pandemic - Covid-19. That iswhen we started making PPE clothing. We were at the forefront of the worldwide production of Covid-19 protective clothing just as there was a decline of Covid-19. We also exported to many countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been instrumental in the growth of the textile sector. The textile and hosiery manufacturers from Tamil Nadu continued to put forward various demands. All of them were fulfilled. Present any demand for the development of the textile sector to the Cental Government. We will review your requests and find a solution. That is also the Prime Minister's intention," reiterated Union MInister Smriti Irani.
