Coimbatore: On the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Poverty, the All India Women's Union staged a protest in Coimbatore to submit a petition to the District Collector.
The All India Women's Union of Coimbatore district is holding a petition across the state on the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Poverty. As part of this, the All India Women's Union also submitted a petition at the Coimbatore district collectorate.
In their petition, they demanded that free house sites be provided to the homeless. Patta should be issued to all those applying for patta. The 100-day work programme should be expanded in town panchayats and municipalities.
100 days of work should also be reserved for differently-abled persons. The newly issued pattas should be issued in the name of women and people living in places like water bodies should be given pattas after a change of category.
