Krishnasamy further added that the car cylinder blast in Coimbatore has created a lot of fear among the public and should not be treated as an isolated incident and that it was the responsibility of the present Government to protect the lives and property of all the people living in Tamil Nadu.
Coimbatore: Puthiya Tamizhagam Party President Krishnasamy has questioned whether the cylinder explosion in a car in Coimbatore was a suicide attack to disrupt Dwali celebrations.
"The incident of a suspicious cylinder exploding at around 4.30 am on October 23rd in the Coimbatore-Kottamedu area has created a lot of tension across the city as well as in Tamil Nadu. It is only this year after the complete lockdown, that people across the country are celebrating Diwali with joy. The incident of a car explosion at this moment should not be treated as an isolated incident. Could it have been a suicide attack to disrupt Diwali? Doubts are beginning to rise," stated Krishnasamy.
A probe led by the DGP Shailendra Babu who rushed from Chennai revealed several startling revelations. The driver of the car was 23-year-old Jameza Mubin, who was found dead in the car which had iron nails and marbles needed to make country bombs. Moreover, ammonium nitrate was seized during a raid on his house; There are also strong authentic reports that he has been under NIA surveillance for the last three years.
Krishnasamy further stated that in 1998, hundreds of lives were lost in a bomb blast in Coimbatore. "For nearly 15 years, the economy of Coimbatore city had come to a standstill. Everywhere in Tamil Nadu, bomb scares and panic arose. Politics should not hamper the responsibility of the State to protect the lives and property of the people. In 1998, it was the gentle attitude adopted by those in power in Tamil Nadu that led to such a large number of deaths. If Chief Minister M K Stalin does not act in a sincere manner on this issue, it will get worse and foster terrorism. The present regime and authority should not allow Tamil Nadu to be regarded as a haven for the promotion of terrorism. Having given empty statements that we will suppress acts of extremist violence with an iron hand, the present ruling party has practically turned into sugarcane hands. They should not become rusty hands. Moreover, the Tamil Nadu-Kerala borders should be sealed immediately; The National Investigation Agencies should also do their job at the earliest. It is the responsibility of the present Government to protect the lives and property of the 8-crore Tamil people living in Tamil Nadu. If this Government fails in that duty, it will face the penalty for the same. On behalf of the Puthiya Tamizhagam Party, I urge you to scour house to house, sift from ward to ward across Coimbatore city under the supervision of the DGP to fully identify the links of this vicious gang and root out these extremist gangs completely. I appeal to every social activist in the world to completely distance themselves from these extremist groups who are intent on makingTamil Nadu a land of riots just to register their warped protests," reiterated Krishnasamy vehemently.
