Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, who participated in the Trekking Camp at Ava Hill in Coonoor, delivered an inspiring speech to the students.


The Nilgiris: All India NCC students trekking camp was held at Coonoor Ava Hill.

It was attended by Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, the only Indian citizen to have gone to space and an Ashoka Chakra awardee. He was received by the Camp Commandant Colonel Srinivas.



Interacting with the students at the camp, Rakesh Sharma said that marks alone do not determine life.

He also added that chasing dreams in real-life situations is very important.

Rakesh Sharma spoke to the students to encourage them that it will not stop the spirit of motivation in any obstacles and the motivation has to emerge from within.



He said the need for Indian knowledge is very important in the world of technology. He also said that he can earn respect by doing his duty to the nation.

Colonel Siva Rao, Group Commander, Coimbatore, presented a memento to the chief guest on the occasion and delivered a vote of thanks.
