Muslims gathered in front of the Tirupur collectorate and staged a protest demanding that the right to worship of minorities guaranteed by the Constitution of India should be protected.
Tiruppur: It is said that a few officials are continuing to work in 15.Velampalayam, Avinashi, Thirumuruganpoondi and other areas of Tirupur district to take away the right to religious worship of Muslims.

A protest was held in front of the Tirupur district collectorate on behalf of the All Islamic Jamath Organisations.
At the protest, it was alleged that the 15 Velampalayam Mosque now denies muslims their right to prayer due to a case filed by individuals in connection with the mosque.
As a result, the protestor demanded that action should be taken against the officials who deny them the right to worship and the right to worship of the minorities guaranteed by the Constitution of India should be protected.

Thousands of Muslims participated in the protest and raised slogans to press for their demands.
It is to be noted that heavy police security was put in place in front of the Tiruppur district Collectorate to prevent any untoward incident during the protest.
