Tirupur: Sub-stations are being set up at various places in Tiruppur district to meet the power shortage.
Accordingly, a substation with a capacity of 16 MVA was being constructed at a cost of Rs.1.2 crore at the Collectorate, Tirupur. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the ready-to-use sub-stations across the state through video conferencing.

Tirupur District Collector Vineeth on Monday cut a ribbon and inaugurated the sub-station constructed at the Tirupur District Collectorate for public use.

This 16 mva capacity substation can provide electricity connection to a circumference of 12 km.

Of these, 6,500 connections have been provided, including houses and industries.
