To provide better services to commuters, BMTC may operate Volvo buses with new features acquired under the JnNURM scheme. Two such buses began running in the city on a three-month trial. These AC vehicles have mobile and laptop charging points at every row of seats, an emergency switch for passengers near the middle door, a panic button near the driver's seat, provisions for wheelchairs to enter and exit from middle door, two cameras to ensure safety and an intelligent transport system to provide information about the bus, route and place to the passengers.
