Kumaraguru College of Technology wins 11th Regional Women's Basketball Championship of Anna University held near Thudiyalur

The 11th Regional Women's Basketball Championship of Anna University was held at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Vattamalaipalayam near Thudiyalur, Coimbatore. Kumaraguru College of Technology defeated Government College of Technology by 53-23 to finish on top of the table.



Coimbatore: The 11th Zonal Women's Basketball Championship 2022-23 of Anna University was held at the College Basketball Ground by the Department of Physical Education, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Vattamalaipalayam near Thudiyalur.



Dr. N R Alamelu, Principal of the college inaugurated the competition and delivered the keynote address. About 75 students participated in the competition with Sri Ramakrishna College of Engineering defeating SNS Engineering College 26-4 in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

In the semi-finals, Kumaraguru College of Technology defeated SNS College of Technology by a scoreline of 44-5. In the other semi-final, Government College of Technology defeated Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College by 20-16.

Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College beat SNS College of Technology by 33-12 in the match for the third and fourth place. In the finale for the first and second place, Kumaraguru College of Technology defeated Government College of Technology by 53-23 points to secure the top spot.



Nirmala Devi, Director of Physical Education, Kumaraguru College of Technology felicitated the winners with prizes at the prize distribution ceremony. The arrangements for the competition were made by Ramakrishna Engineering College Physical Education Directors Nithyanandan and Umarani. Udayarani, Vice-President, Department of Physics and others were present at the event.
