The villagers from Masandipalyam today filed a petition to the Coimbatore district collector, T.N.Hariharan, seeking jobs under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
In their petition, they have said, “More than 500 families live in the Masandiaplayam village. 320 families have ration cards. We have lakes in our village but they are not maintained properly. We are suffering out of jobs since the last few months. Hence we request the district collector to offer us jobs under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.” they stated.
