Woman sitting on dharna in front of Coimbatore Collectorate suddenly faints

Geetharani, a resident of Kannappa Nagar area, suddenly fainted while staging a dharna in front of the Coimbatore District Collector's office demanding action against Kovai Kumar who had allegedly cut the electricity connection for her house.

Coimbatore: Venkatesh and Geetharani are residents of Kannappa Nagar in Coimbatore and have two sons.

Their relative Kovaikumar had reportedly snapped the electricity connection to their home last week and also threatened the Electricity Board employees not to restore the electricity connection.

Venkatesh and Geetharani lodged a complaint at Rathnapuri and Saibaba Colony police stations stating that they have been living in the dark for the past one week.

However, since no action had been taken in this regard, the couple along with their two sons sat on a dharna on the main road opposite the Collectorate in Coimbatore.

During the dharna, Geetharani suddenly fainted following which the police helped her recover, pacified the family and took them away to investigate the incident.
