Private schools allegedly asking students to mention caste identities in diaries - Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam activists protest in Coimbatore

At the protest, they demanded that the recognition of schools asking students to write caste in their diaries should be revoked and casteism should not be instilled in the minds of the children.


Coimbatore: A few days ago, a controversy erupted after some private schools in Coimbatore district claimed that they were asking students to mention caste categories in their school homework manuals (diary).



In this situation, the Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam staged a protest against the private schools and the Coimbatore district education department.

In this protest, the recognition of schools that ask students to write caste in their diaries should be revoked. Demands were reiterated that casteism should not be instilled in the minds of the students.



More than 20 people from allied parties, including the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, participated in the protest and raised slogans demanding various demands.

They also insisted that sanatanam in schools and UGC universities was a great shame for the country.
