Kishore K Samy, has been arrested for tweeting a message that was communal during the tense Coimbatore Car Blast. Coimbatore Criminal Court has granted one-day custody on Monday.
Coimbatore: Jamaats refused to perform the last rites of Jameesha Mubin, who died in a car explosion in front of Kottai Easwaran temple in Coimbatore on October 23, 2022. The Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police had registered a case under Section 153 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against kishore K Samy, a right-wing supporter and social media commentator, for allegedly tweeting a post that rankles communal tension.
Kishore K Samy, who had already been arrested by the Chennai police in another case for posting defamatory news about the Chief Minister, was already lodged in jail. He was arrested on Sunday by the Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police.
Kishore K Samy was produced before the 4th Judicial Magistrate Court judge Saravanababu of Coimbatore district on Monday. At that time, an application was filed on behalf of the police to take him into custody and interrogate him. Following this, Justice Saravanababu remanded Kishore K Samy to one-day custody today (November 28) and ordered him to be interrogated.
Following this, the police took him to the Government Medical College Hospital and conducted a routine health check up. He was later brought to the cyber crime office in the Coimbatore city police commissioner's premises and is being interrogated.
