Madhar Sangam in Coimbatore protest against hike in electricity and property taxes; Urge TN Govt. to curb price rise

A large number of women from the Madhar Sangam participated in the protest that was held in front of the Coimbatore South taluk office and raised slogans condemning the price rise. They also urged the Government for a reduction in taxes and control of price rise.



Coimbatore: Several organisations in Tamil Nadu are protesting against the hike in electricity and property tax, and milk price.



Meanwhile, a state - wide protest is being held on Tuesday on behalf of the Madhar Sangam.



A large number of women from the Madhar Sangam participated in the protest that was held in front of the Coimbatore South taluk office and raised slogans condemning the price rise.



They also urged the Government for a reduction in taxes and control of price rise.



Shanti Chandran, the Coimbatore District Convenor of the All India Madhar Sangam stated that the rise in property tax, milk prices and electricity bills has severely affected the common man, who earns less than Rs. 300 a day. Therefore, she requested the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin to reduce taxes and roll back the price hike.
