Arunthathiyar community people from Athikuttai petition Collector to provide patta for Panchami lands

Arunthathiyars of Athikuttai near Thottiyapalayam in Coimbatore have demanded that pattas should be given to the Panchami lands in which they live for the past 50 years.



Coimbatore: More than 150 people belonging to the Arunthathiyar community, who have been living in Athikuttai near Thottiyapalayam in Coimbatore district for more than 50 years have submitted a petition to the District collector demanding patta allotment for Panchami lands they are presently living in.



The petitioners stated that they have not been included as beneficiaries in any of the welfare assistance schemes due to lack of pattas for their house plots and lands.



Tense situation prevailed in the Collectorate, as the Arunthathiyars came to petition the collector, shouting slogans and carrying banners.
