Ukkadam bypass needs better street lights, public plea Corporation.

Despite 30 street lights being installed on the Ukkadam bypass road that leads to Selvapuram, more than half of the lights remain to be 'useless', say Public and Motorist.

The area is prone to accidents as every alternate street light is either in a stale or in a flickering state. Several heavy-weight trucks and lorries use the route to reach Kerala and other destinations. Pitch darkness prevails at most part of the stretch posing serious threat to the motorist.

Especially, lack of street lights on the road leading to Ukkadam Fish Market is yet another huge concern for the residents and commuters. Hence, they have requested the City Corporation to take necessary steps to sort out the street light issues, on priority.
