A loan amount of RS.1 crore and subsidy of up to Rs 10 lakh can be availed under the centrally sponsored scheme.

A loan amount of RS.1 crore and subsidy of up to Rs 10 lakh can be availed under the centrally sponsored scheme.
District Collector G S Sameeran in a press release issued here said the applicant has to meet 10 per cent of the project cost on his own and 90 per cent will be disbursed as loan through banks. About 35 per cent of the project cost will be given as subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh.
Under this scheme, individuals, owners' organizations, partner organizations, women self help groups, farmer producer organizations and producers cooperative societies can be benefitted. The entreprenuers could being new ventures and upgrade existing ones in food processing and food- based value added industry..
There is no upper age limit and educational qualification to avail the benefits under this scheme. All industries falling under the food processing category under this scheme including value added coconut products, coconut oil, dry coconut, grated coconut, coconut water, dairy products, value added dairy products and Rice mills, spices, idli flour preparation, millet dishes, papads, pickles, toks, bakery products, production of roasted gram, making of nutritive flour, preparation of dry ness and preparation of sweet alkaline varieties could avail benefits under this scheme..
Further, under this scheme, farmer producers associations, Self Help Groups and cooperative societies can benefit from setting up of Common Facility Centre (CFC) for food processing industry with a maximum of Rs.10 crore with 35% subsidy at a maximum project cost of Rs.3.00 crore.
