Pollachi MP's plea to introduce Pollachi - Palani special train for Thaipoosam

Pollachi MP K Shanmugasundaram met Railway Board Chairman V.K. Tripathi and urged him to start a Kisan Rail Project in Pollachi to transport vegetables and coconut-based products produced in Udumalpet and Pollachi areas to other states.


Coimbatore: Pollachi MP K. Shanmuga Sundaram has urged the Railway Board to to introduce a Kisal rail to Pollachi as it would benefit the farming community of the region.

The MP also urged the government to run a special train from Coimbatore and Pollachi to Palani from January 15 for Thaipoosam festival.

Moreover, coconut grown in Udumalpet, Pollachi and Kinathukadavu would get good prices, if Kisan Rail is introduced as the measure help farmers to transport these goods to other states like Mumbai and Delhi..
