It's undeniably a heart-breaking phase for the family members of the accident victims. Despite the inconsolable situation, the family members of such victims come forward to donate the organs, if they get into a stale or brain dead state. By doing so, a new lease of life to patients who are in need of a organ desperately could be benefited. But, truly it also gives a sense of content to the family of the deceased as they transform their sadness into happiness for the family of the recipient.
In one such heart-rending incident, V. Arumugam a weaver from Tirupur met with an accident while he was riding his two wheeler along with his wife. Arumugam sustained severe head injury. The couple were rushed to KMCH hospital in Sulur. Later for critical treatment, Arumugam was shifted to KMCH, Coimbatore were he remained to be in a very critical condition.
Unfortunately, he was declared brain dead yesterday, 7th February 2017. In spite of the mournful situation that prevailed amongst his family members, Arumugam's son and daughter consented to donate his organs. Upon their approval, a team of doctors immediately harvested the organ of the deceased. His eyes were sent to Aravind Eye Hospitals, Liver and kidneys were used to patients at KMCH hospitals.
