The police, led by Vadavalli police sub-inspector Muthuraj, were conducting a vehicle checking near Vedapatti. Gopal Kumar, a native of Rajasthan, was found smuggling 100 kg of gutkha items in a car.

A police team led by Vadavalli police sub-inspector Muthuraj conducted patrolling on veerakeralam-vedapatti road. At that time, the police stopped the car coming through the Veerakeralam bus stop and questioned the person who was driving the vehicle.
As he gave contradictory replies, the police got suspicious and searched the car. At that time, it was found that gutkha items were inside. According to the police, the arrested person has been identified as Gopal Kumar (24), a native of Rajasthan.
It was revealed that he was staying in Coimbatore and was bringing gutkha products in bulk and selling them to the shops.
Later, the police arrested Gopal Kumar and seized gutkha items weighing 100 kg and a car from his possession.
