The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department has recovered a 4,500-feet commercial building belonging to the Karivaradharaja Perumal Temple in Kottaimedu area of Coimbatore South taluk limits, as per a Court order.
Coimbatore: The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department officials recovered a commercial building worth Rs.6 crore belonging to the Karivaradharaja Perumal Temple in Coimbatore.
The commercial building belonging to the Karivaradharaja Perumal Temple in Kottaimedu area of Coimbatore South taluk limits had been under private occupation for a long time.
While a Court order was issued to recover the building, officials led by Coimbatore Regional Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Assistant Commissioner M Karunanidhi recovered the 4,500-square-foot commercial building belonging to the temple, on Thursday.
In this regard, officials of the Endowments Department stated, "It was found that the commercial building, which belongs to this temple, was under the occupation of a third party, not a tenant, for a long time.
Following the Court order, the commercial building was brought under the control of the temple, as on December 22.
The present market value of the commercial building which has been recovered is Rs. 6 crore. Meanwhile, the temple authorities have thanked the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department for restoring the land belonging to the Karivaradharaja Perumal Temple from a private party.
