Over 10 people bitten by stray dogs in Tirupur; corporation staff nabbed the stray dogs

Residents of Tirupur Corporation are relieved as corporation officials chased for over 3 hours and caught stray dogs after they bit more than 10 people in the areas falling under wards 44 and 45.



Tirupur: Pedestrians and motorists are facing serious hardships due to stray dogs roaming in large numbers in various areas under Tirupur Corporation.

This is mainly due to irresponsible citizens feeding stray dogs in the areas where they live. Due to this, more than 10 people were bitten by stray dogs while they were on the road at night in the areas of 44th and 45th wards of the corporation. The injured are being treated at the Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital.

People in the area have been reluctant to step out of their homes since this morning in fear after hearing the news of more than 10 people being bitten by stray dogs at night.



On the basis of a complaint lodged by the public to the corporation administration, the corporation staff chased for three hours this morning and caught the dogs that had bitten the public in the 44th and 45th wards.



The people of the area were relieved after the feral animals were removed from the area.

Similarly, as the menace of stray dogs is increasing manifold at night on various residential and main roads under Tirupur Corporation, the public has requested the corporation authorities to catch stray dogs and ensure the safety of the public.
