Perur All Women Police Station Police arrested a 53-year-old man for sexually harassing his own granddaughter near Karumathampatti under the POCSO Act.
Coimbatore: A 53-year-old man from Somanur near Karumathampatti allegedly sexually assaulted his eight-year-old granddaughter, following which he was arrested by the Police under the provisions of the POCSO Act.
The eight-year-old child victim had informed her parents that her grandfather sexually assaulted her.
Following this the family members lodged a complaint at Karumathampatti police station and later the case was transferred to Perur All-women police station.
The Perur all-women police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested the elderly man and remanded him in custody.
