Petition filed at Dist. Collector's office seeking burial ground facility for Scheduled Caste people in Tirupur

The Scheduled Caste and Arunthathiyar community members have submitted a petition to the Tirupur District Collector putting forth 21 demands, including the establishment of a burial ground facility at Iluppa Nagar near Udumalpet.



Tirupur: A large number of Scheduled Caste and Arunthathiyar community members live in Iluppa Nagar area near Udumalaipettai in Tirupur district. The area lacks burial ground facilities for these communities and locals allege that despite repeated petitions in this regard, the authorities have not taken appropriate action to provide a decent burial ground.



Hence, the community members submitted a petition to the Tirupur District Collector, S Vineeth, putting forth a 21-point charter of demands which included provision of burial grounds and basic amenities for the Scheduled Caste members.



Locals of Iluppa Nagar area have warned of launching the next phase of protest if action is not taken on the basis of the petition submitted to the Tirupur District Collector.
