C. Vijayakumar IPS assumes charge as new DIG of Police (Coimbatore Range)

C. Vijayakumar IPS assumed charge as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Coimbatore Range. He was, earlier DCP of Anna Nagar, Chennai.



Coimbatore: C. Vijayakumar assumed charge as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Coimbatore today. Since, Muthusamy, who was serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police (Coimbatore Range) was transferred, the new DIG assumed charge.



Vijayakumar cleared the IPS in 2009 and served as Superintendent of Police of Kancheepuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur districts.

He was later working as Deputy Commissioner of Anna Nagar in Chennai and was promoted.

The police officers greeted him with bouquets at DIG's office at Race Course when he came there to take charge.

“I would strive to address the problems faced by the general public and keep the law and order in perfect state’ said Vijayakumar.
