National Siddha Day Awareness Herbal Exhibition organized in in City

On the occasion of National Siddha Day, the birth anniversary of Agastya, the father of Siddha medicine, an awareness herbal exhibition on Siddha medicine was held at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.


Coimbatore: The birth anniversary of Agastya, who is revered as the father of Siddha medicine, is celebrated as National Siddha Medical Day Agastya is considered to be the first of the 18 Siddhas and he is revered as the first of the Siddhas.



He established Siddha medicine, which specializes in all aspects of the body including, physiology, surgery, mental diseases, mantra, tantra, medicine, yoga, diagnosis and philosophy.

References and inscriptions about Agastya are found not only in Tamil Nadu but also in states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and also in Cambodia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Vietnam and European countries.

National Siddha Medical Day is celebrated on January 9 to mark the birth anniversary of Agastya, who made the world aware of the medical glory of the Tamil tradition.



On the occasion of Siddha Day, herbal exhibitions, medical camps, awareness rallies, seminars, lectures and workshops are being conducted in association with Siddha medical institutions, hospitals, NGOs, universities, schools and colleges across Tamil Nadu.



As part of this, an awareness exhibition on Siddha medicine was held on behalf of Siddha department at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Herbal and green plants for Siddha medicine including kadukkai, nutmeg, sukku, pepper, thippili, aayathan, vallarai and ponnanganni were displayed.

The health benefits of' Kapasura kudineer' was also stressed during the event.
