Chill weather conditions continues to prevail in many places in Coimbatore district

Heavy fog and chill weather conditions persisted in various parts of Coimbatore district since early this morning and it has severely affected the normal life of the people.


Coimbatore: The impact of chill weather and cold conditions in the district has been very high since the dawn of New Year.

As such, severe cold conditions prevailed in many parts of the district including Coimbatore city and surrounding areas even today.



People could not come out of their homes due to fog and misty weather and due to this, many places in the district recorded low temperatures.

Accordingly, Anaimalai recorded 14.9 Celsius, Annur 14.4 Celsius, Karamadai 13.6 C, Madukkarai 19.6 C, Sultanpet 16.6 C, Sulur 14.5 C, and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University 16.6 C.



According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, the chill weather conditions will continue till Pongal and cold weather conditions will persist.
