Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath exhorts TN Governor to ‘dismiss’ Tamil Nadu government

Citing poor law and order situation and safety and security for the gubernatorial post of a Governor, Arjun Sampath has urged TN Governor R.N. Ravi to take steps to ‘dismiss’ the Tamil Nadu government.

Tirupur: Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath has urged TN Governor R.N Ravi to invoke Article 356 of the Constitution and dismiss the TN Government on various grounds including poor law and order situation.

Arjun Sampath cited lack of security for the Governor and poor law and order situation as grounds for his request.

Participating in the 91st death anniversary of freedom fighter “Kodikatha” Kumaran at Tirupur and garlanding the statue Arjun Sampath told reporters “"I condemn the renaming of the newly opened bus stand in Tirupur after Kalaignar Karunanidhi. It should have been named after freedom fighter” Kodikatha” Kumaran.

“The dignity of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has been tarnished by the disrespect meted out to the Governor in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. The Constitution of India itself has been insulted: Arjun Sampath noted.

“In order to protect the dignity of the Governor's office, the Governor has omitted a few lines and he has walked out because a resolution has been passed against the Governor in the House” Arjun Sampath futher said.

“The Tamil Nadu Assembly should be suspended and article 356 invoked against it” he said.
