Tourists from various states bordering the Nilgiris district flocked Ooty, making a beeline for all the tourist spots in spite of temperature in the district being freezing cold.

Thousands of tourists who had gathered at the Botanical Garden enjoyed the Bharatanatyam and the traditional dances performed by the Toda and Badaga women, who are the original tribals of Nilgiris district.
While the Badagas danced, tourists also enthusiastically participated and danced along to the rhythm of the traditional folk beats.
Prizes were presented to the winners who enthusiastically participated.
