Over 100 Students display Silambam expertise at an event in Dharapuram

More than 100 students enthusiastically took part in the Silambam marital arts display at Dharapuram in Tiruppur district on the occasion of Pongal festival.


Coimbatore: Silambam is one of the folk games being practiced in Tamil Nadu.

Silambattam, which is revered and preserved as one of the traditional arts of the Tamils, is not only a martial art but also an ideal art form of inspiration for physical and mental well-being.

It is very essential for today's life for everyone, from young to old, irrespective of their age, to learn this art and maintain physical and mental well-being.



In this context, a demonstration of Silambu martial arts was held at Dharapuram in Tiruppur district on the occasion of Pongal festival.



Organized as part of 46th year Pongal celebrations at Sri Madurai Veeran Silambu Training Centre, demonstration of the martial arts was held. Indian Arts was held.

Silambu coach Mohan presided over the programme and more than 100 students displayed their talents on the occasion.
