Coimbatore District Collector T. N. Hariharan today inaugurated an awareness camp on consumption of spurious liquor and a special medical camp for the welfare of the public.
Following the death of people who reportedly died due to consumption of spurious liquor the Tamil Nadu government is taking steps to recover such alcohol-addicted persons and to create awareness on the ill-effects of consuming spurious liquor. As part of this initiative, a special medical camp was conducted today for the general public also. Senior citizens from various parts of the city took part in the camp and got their basic medical examinations done.
Government officials from various departments were present at the camp.
