In order to avoid traffic congestion at the junction of Coimbatore Thadagam Road, Lawley Road, and to reduce the waiting time for people to signal, Model roundabout was set up as a pilot run by the city police and traffic police.
Coimbatore: A model roundabout was set up to reduce traffic congestion in the city and reduce the time when people wait for signals.
In order to avoid traffic congestion at the junction of Coimbatore, Thadagam Road, Lawley Road, and to reduce the time people wait for the signal, as a pilot project of the city police, traffic wing, road safety divisional engineer Manuneeti and officers of that wing, the trial run was conducted from 4.00 p.m. today with the help of S. Cholavalathan, Assistant Divisional Engineer, State Highways Division, along with the officers of that division, by setting up a model roundabout.
As a result, motorists going to Marudhamalai via Cowley Brown Road can take a left turn on Guru Govind Singh Road next to Uzhavar Santhai, pass through West Periyasamy Road, Thadagam Road, reach Lawley Road Junction and take the journey according to the changes made there.
Therefore, the police department has requested to extend their cooperation in this initiative in the interest of the public.
