United bank of India has opened its 2018th branch in the country at Kovaipudhur in Coimbatore.
Pawan Bajaj CEO and Managing Director of the bank presided over the inauguration. S. Malarvizhi. Chairperson and Managing Director of Sri Krishna institutions was the Chief Guest. Elango, DGM and CRM of the bank delivered the welcome address. Raja, also known as Pattimandram Raja, a famous public speaker and actor delivered the special address.

When speaking to the press Pawan Bajaj CEO and Managing Director of the bank said, “We are starting the 6th branch in Coimbatore and 2018th branch in India. This year alone, we have opened 51 branches. 25% of the banks will be opened in rural areas. More branches of the bank are now present in the east and north eastern part of the country. Hence, we have opened up three centers as link centers in Indore, Agra and Ludhiana, as our presence is less in those places. Link centers will work as a regional office. They will see the potential of those link centres for this fiscal year.
Coimbatore is a potential area for banking and many avenues available for the banks here and hence we started our new branch here. Our main focus is on personal banking, industrial developments, retails management etc. United bank of India is promoting the startup companies and we are third bank in India supporting the startup companies. We are also planning to start a new branch at Coonoor to attract the tea growers. Deposits have increased almost to 10500 crores and the impact of demonetization is under control. Soon, the bank plans to open two more new branches in Coimbatore and Pollachi'.
