Train activists and passengers demand additional ticket counter at Udumalpet Railway Station

There is a demand to set up an additional ticket counter at Udumalpet railway station in Tirupur district for the benefit of passengers.

Tirupur: In view of the increasing number of train passengers, the members of public and train activists have demanded that additional ticket counter opened at the Udumalpet railway station

Udumalaipet railway station is located on the Coimbatore-Dindigul route in Tirupur district.

Trains including Coimbatore-Madurai, Palakkad-Tiruchendur, Palakkad-Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram-Madurai are being operated through this route.

Hundreds of passengers visit Udumalpet railway station every day. However, there is only one ticket counter set up at the railway station for issuing and booking tickets.

Due to this, the passengers are put to extreme hardship. Moreover, the authorities are also unable to give tickets quickly at a time when the passenger crowd is high which is causing long waiting time and longer queues.
