'Majority of party cadres want Panneerselvam as Chief Minister' says MLA Arukutty

Arukutty MLA of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party went on record saying that Sasikala has no right to remove O. Panneerselvam supporters from the party. He added that in reality, a majority of the AIADMK cadres want O. Pannerselvam to continue as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

V.C. Arukutty, AIADMK MLA from Kavundampalayam constituency in Coimbatore and O. Pannerselvam supporter when speaking to the press people today said, “AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala does not hold any power to remove the supporters of Pannerselvam from the party. Am stay strong with my decision in supporting O. Panneerselvam to be the CM of Tamil Nadu.

The reason, I supported Sasikala during her election as the party General Secretary was just to prevent a split in the party. However, the situation is not the same at present. People and many MLAs as well as MPs' along with party members will continue to support O. Panneerselvam to become CM. Ministers Edappadi Palanisamy and Sengotaiyan should support O. Pannerselvam if they want the party to be united” he said.

MLA Arukutty stated firmly that people of Tamil Nadu want O. Panneerselvam to continue as their state's Chief Minister.
