BJP party members arrested for conducting meeting without necessary permission

BJP party members today mourned the victims of the Coimbatore bomb blasts despite being denied the permission from the police to host the meeting.

In this regard, city police has arrested the more than 1000 people including BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.

It may be recalled that about 54 persons died during the bomb blasts in Coimbatore on February 14 1998. Today, several Hindu organisations paid their respects to the victims of the Coimbatore bomb blasts. This year members of various organisations conducted a procession in R. S. Puram in the city. BJP, Hindu Munnani and RSS members participated in this procession.

Tamil Nadu state president of BJP Tamilisai Soundararajan, Central Coir board president C.P.Radhakrishanan participated in this meeting and paid their respects. BJP's state president Tamilisai Soundrarajan said that a pillar in memory of the bomb blast victims should be erected in R.S.Puram.

She slammed the police for the delay in arresting the persons who murdered the Hindu Munnani leader Sasikumar. She said the Tamil Nadu politicians are afraid of 'Kaavi' (Saffron) than 'Aavi'.

She also said the saffron flag will be hoisted in Tamil Nadu. Police arrested Tamilisai Soundarajan and people who participated in the meeting.
