'Diamonds India' will launch a diamond and gold jewellery manufacturing centre in the city on February 5. Women, transgenders and differently-abled persons can get free training and incentives at this centre.
Coimbatore: The demand for employees for diamond and gold jewellery manufacturing in India has been
high.
To cater to this, for the first time, a women's training centre in the City will be opened on February 5 at R.S. Puram.
Diamonds India is a training centre is spread over an area of about 5,000 sq ft. and the training on techniques of making diamond and diamond, gold and silver jewellery will be imparted here.
The centre will be inaugurated by Jayantilal Chalani, President of the Chennai Diamond and Jewellers' Association, on February 5.
According to Diamond India the salient features of the Training Centre include that it will be headed by Muralitharan, who has over 35 years of experience as a teacher and trainer in the diamond and diamond industry and as a consultant.
Muralitharan's students have been shining in the diamond jewellery profession in Coimbatore district and across Tamil Nadu and are involved in the diamond jewellery business and diamond jewellery-making business.
In this context, the training will be carried out in a 360-degree holistic approach to expand professional learning in order to facilitate the trainees to set up their own units. Support will be given to start a jewellery business after training and to hire workers to help them in their profession and managers to manage the workers.
Teachers trained in London, and California in the USA including Akhilandeswari Muralitharan and Seshagopal Muralitharan will take up this teaching assignment. Both of them have studied and graduated from London and The State of California, USA in connection with the diamond and diamond jewellery industry.
The training institute will start classes at Diamonds India to enable entrepreneurs interested in making diamond jewellery, gold and silver jewellery to get all the necessary training and help in one place to start a business in future.
Further, entrepreneurs who have taken up this training will be provided with the necessary advice and instructions to start a business and training will also be imparted to the workers and managers required by the company.
It has been planned to extend free training for 100 people per year in the institute.
Every year 100 eligible women, differently-abled and transgender will be selected at this training centre and free training will be provided free of cost, which will range from 30 days to 90 days.
Those who have completed this training fully will be given full assistance so that they can find work in Coimbatore district or in the vicinity of their native place.
