DMK Working President Stalin was here in the city, today. A meeting was convened in a function hall near Pappampatti in Coimbatore to interact with the party's state and district level representatives from all over the state.
Addressing the party cadres at the meeting, Stalin Working President of DMK stated that their party welcomes the judgement proposed by Supreme Court on disproportionate asset case. 'Justice Michael D'Cunha pronounced Jayalalitha, Sasikala and cadres as accused and slammed them with a fine and imprisonment in 2014 itself, today the Supreme Court Justice bench has restored Justice Cunha's judgement, hence DMK party appreciates Justice Cunha for his honesty and prompt judgement'.
Resolutions were also passed condemning police for attacking Jallikattu protestors. The heedless attitude by the ruling government towards the increasing farmers suicide received condemnation at the meeting.
About 11 resolutions were passed at the meeting including resolution for seeking the approval of the President to exclude Tamil Nadu from NEET examination, And, free electricity provided to the weavers should not be cancelled due to the implementation of UDAY scheme.
In the press meet following this meeting, journalists raised question regarding selection of Divakaran as AIADMK's deputy general secretary to which DMK Working President Stalin said, 'DMK won't interfere in other party affairs'. He also clarified that call for all DMK MLAs from all districts to report today in Chennai, is a 'hoax'. 'No such call for has been made', he affirmed.
