Eviction drive of roadside encroachments in Valparai town carried out

Unbridled encroachments clogged the road space in Valaparai town causing traffic disruption in the area due to which a major evciton operation was carried out today.



Coimbatore:TheHighways department officials evicted roadside encroachments including shops and buildings that had been constructed on both flanks from the Puthuthottam area to Valparai new bus stand stretch.



Unbridled encroachments clogged the road space in Valaparai town causing traffic disruption in the area due to which a major evciton operation was carried out today.

It was alleged that over 100 shops had cropped up in the stretch over the years.



Under the supervision of Tahsildar Uma Maheshwari, the Highways department officers evicted the encroachments by engaging JCB machines.



The pavement and walkway encroachments were also evicted on the occasion.

The general public appreciated the eviction operation carried out on the arterial road.
