Burglar involved in series of burglary incidents arrested by Police near K.G.Chavadi

With the help of CCTV footage, the K G Chavadi police have arrested a youth who broke open a farmer's house in Kuttigoundanpathi area and stole Rs 15,000 in cash


Coimbatore: A burglar, who committed burglary in two houses in a row near K G Chavadi has been arrested by the police.

Thangavel (53) is a native of Kuttigoundanpathi near K G Chavadi. It is learnt that the farmer, along with his wife was engaged in farming work on his farm yesterday.

When he reached home in the evening, he found that the front door of the house was broken open and Rs 15,000 cash was stolen from his house.

Shocked by this, farmer Thangavel lodged a complaint with the K G Chavadi police station.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and examined the CCTV camera footage installed in the area.

When the burglar was trying to break open a second house in the same area, Police intercepted and interrogated him.



The arrested person has been identified as Aboobacker (22), a native of Villupuram district, who burgled at Thangavelu's house and also tried to enter another house in the same area.

The burglar is said to be living in Navakarai area and is working as a labourer.

Police arrested the culprit and remanded him in custody.
