Thudiyalur police have arrested Sabarinathan, a private bus conductor from Palladam for abducting a school student from Kavundampalayam.
Coimbatore: A private bus conductor from Palladam, Sabarinathan was arrested by police under the POCSO Act for abducting a girl student from Kavundampalayam.
The said minor girl is a daughter of a migrant worker and she is studying in Class 9 at a Government school in Kavundampalayam.
The girl went to school last week but did not return home.
As the girl could not be found despite searching at several places, her mother Anu lodged a complaint at Thudiyalur police station.
Following this, the Thudiyalur all-women police, who took up investigations arrested Sabarinathan, a native of Palladam, and rescued the girl.
Investigations revealed that Sabarinathan had kidnapped the girl on the pretext of being in love with the girl for the past month and was working as a conductor in a private bus in the city.

Following this, the Thudiyalur all-women police registered a POCSO case against Sabarinathan and remanded him in custody.
The arrested person, though already married, is living separately from his wife.
