Earlier, Police arrested seven persons in connection with the murder of a man in broad daylight and took them to Coimbatore. They were involved in the gory murder of a man in the District court complex on February 13.
Coimbatore: The 8th person involved in the daylight murder case near the Court complex, Gnanasekar, a native of Gandhipuram in Coimbatore, surrendered at the Ooty B1 police station today.
Following this, the man was taken to Coimbatore by the police for further investigation.

The gang which committed the murder in broad daylight was intercepted and arrested near Kotagiri with the help of the Ooty Police.
According to Police Gokul of Keeranatham in Coimbatore and Manoj of Saravanampatti Sivanandapuram were involved in various criminal and ganja cases.
They both came to the Coimbatore court for a hearing on February 13 and went to Gopalapuram Second Street near the court to have tea when a gang of four men intercepted and attacked them with deadly weapons.
Gokul sustained severe injuries on his neck and died on the spot, while Manoj had been admitted to the Coimbatore Government hospital with deep cuts on his hand and head.
On receiving information, the Police reached the spot and recovered the body of Gokul and sent it for postmortem CMCH
Special teams were formed to nab the culprits and they were on the lookout for the culprits.
In the meanwhile, DSP Prabhakar traced the mobile phone signal of one of the absconding gang members to Nilgiris.
Meanwhile, three youths on two-wheelers were stopped by the police during a vehicle check near Kotagiri, but they sped away without stopping.
However, the police nabbed them after a hot chase.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the arrested persons were involved in the murder of a man in broad daylight in a Coimbatore court. Following this, the police arrested Joshua Devapriyan, Gautham, Arunkumar, Bharani and Hari who came in three vehicles.
Similarly, the police have arrested two more persons in connection with the case during a vehicle check near Kattabetta area.
All the seven arrested have been taken to Coimbatore by the police. The breakthrough arrests of culprits on the very next day of the crime have been lauded by many.
