KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology hosts NAAC sponsored two day national seminar

KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET), Coimbatore organized NAAC sponsored two day national seminar on “Quality improvement through innovative and best practices in teaching learning process.” A statement from KPRIET stated that about 50 faculty members from all over Tamil Nadu and from Telungana attended this two-day seminar. Chief Guest Dr.Ramesh Kasetwar, Vice-Chancellor, Career Point University, Kota, Rajasthan inaugurated the seminar and delivered the keynote lecture on “The need for innovative ideas to make teaching and learning effective”.



The main aim of this seminar was to enable the faculty to develop and use innovative teaching methodology and instructional methods and also to make teaching and learning as an enjoyable and non-monotonous process through active learning methodology. Nowadays there is democratization of knowledge and the role of the teacher is changing to that of facilitator and it is need of the hour to suggest useful innovative teaching, learning and evaluation methods that can be attempted in imparting knowledge to the students. In view of above, the IQAC at KPRIET organized this two day national seminar with the financial support from NAAC, Bangalore.

Dr.S.Ramkumar, Dean (Academics and Administration) welcomed the gathering and briefed the IQAC activities at KPRIET. Dr.K.Bommanna Raja, Principal has presided over the function and addressed the importance of outcome based learning and innovative strategies in teaching learning process. He also pointed out that the use of innovative methods in educational institutions has the potential not only to improve education but also to develop creativity, empower people, strengthen governance and galvanize the effort to achieve the human development goal for the country.

Dr.Rajeev Sukumaran, Senior Advisor, Teaching Learning Centre, IIT Madras delivered a session on “Scientific Educational Practices”. Dr.P.Sasikumar, CEO and Head (IQAC) proposed vote of thanks.
