‘Vision Nano 17’ a one day annual national seminar on Nanomaterials research was hosted at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. Dr.V. M. Pillai, CECRI Karaikudi, Dr. Abraham John, GRI, Dindigul, Dr. John Philip, IGCAR, Kalpakkam and Dr. Tiju Thomas, IIT, Madras participated in this day-long seminar.

In their address the invited experts spoke about Nanofluids, Environmental resources, smart materials, batteries and bio applications. The special invitees, through their talk, educated the participants on nanotechnology and its wide variety of applications and potential ranging from health care, aeronautical, mechanical, safety to energy and environmental sectors. The experts also mentioned that there is less awareness among young students about the field of Nanotechnology. Nearly, Rs.3 crores has been allotted to carry out research in the department of nanotechnology at this college.
